Go to the opposite
A simple way to shift state—physically, energetically, spiritually.
Invitation:
“Whatever you usually do with your body—try the other way.”
Let the following words be part of the practice.
Read slowly. Feel what arises.
———————————
Step-by-step:
Begin with a familiar posture you often find yourself in.
Maybe sitting at the computer.
Let yourself settle into the posture you know well.
Exactly as it is.
Go into it fully—just as you would in that moment.
Play the role.
Let the body show you the pattern.
Pause. Do not move. Be still.
Let stillness meet you—without forcing anything.
Breathe.
Notice how you’re sitting into the chair.
Feel into what’s here.
Any tension, collapse, or weakness—let yourself meet it.
Lean into it.
Don’t try to relax.
Just stay as you are.
Not to fix—just to feel.
Now, notice the space around it.
As if giving it a soft embrace.
Becoming wider. Lighter. Spacious.
Let your breath enjoy the relaxation.
And when it comes naturally…
Feel into the chair,
and let yourself begin to lift—softly, gently—away from the ground.
No push. Just aliveness.
Maybe there’s a smile.
Maybe a quiet sense of strength.
Let your arms stay where they are.
Don’t move on the outside.
Now allow them to rise from within—
not up, but into the sky.
The opposite of collapse.
When strength and softness begin to meet—
you’re there.
Or here.
You’re not chasing a state.
You’re remembering.
Now relax again. Even deeper.
Bring awareness deep within.
Feel into the core—like light.
Deeper. Wider. Finer.
Let awareness soften outward.
Let tension melt.
Let yourself grow in all directions.
Lift again.
Like the sky through your spine.
You got it now.
Let yourself be between things:
Ground and sky.
Stillness and motion.
Effort and ease.
Being and becoming.
And when you notice you’ve left—
just begin again.
Feel the connection—between the ground and the heavens—through you.
Whenever you notice you’re caught—too slumped or too tense—gently shift.
For as long as you like, dance between enjoying and engaging.
Between surrender and effort.
This a way to relate to life.
Being and becoming. Letting heart lead.
Repeat.
